Nepal – A Land That Stole Our Hearts, and a Team That Made It Unforgettable and Became Family We recently completed a once-in-a-lifetime motorcycle journey through Nepal, from the white-water thrills of Trisuli to the raw beauty of Upper Mustang. What made this adventure truly exceptional was the incredible team at Himalayan Trails Awesome Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. From the outset, Mads crafted a tailor-made itinerary that balanced thrill, culture, comfort, and surprise perfectly—rafting, riding, and resting in some of the most stunning and authentic locations Nepal has to offer. The accommodations and meals throughout were well thought out and far exceeded our expectations. Special thanks to: Raj, for flawlessly leading the operations and making everything run seamlessly behind the scenes. Goofy Da, our unstoppable group ride captain—full of joy, patience, and unwavering support no matter how unreasonable our requests were. Always smiling, always delivering. Mahesh, our “Chief Mechanic”, who kept every bike ride-ready, even if it meant fixing them late into the night with bamboo, rocks, or pure ingenuity. Kaushik and Suresh Da, who drove our 4x4 support vehicles like pros through mud, rocks, rivers, and chaos—never spilling a single snack! Ritesh Ji, who led the broader support team with grace and calm, always ready to adjust plans and care for us with kindness and a smile. The professionalism, passion, and genuine care shown by this team turned our trip into something truly meaningful. They didn’t just provide a service—they became part of our story. If you're thinking of exploring Nepal—especially by motorbike or off-the-beaten-path adventures—I cannot recommend Himalayan Trails highly enough. This is not your average tour company. Perfekte Organisation und voll auf unsere Bedürfnisse zugeschnittene Tour. Wir waren 10 Tage im Langtang Gebiet und Gosaikunda unterwegs. Die Vorbetreuung durch Amanda und das Vorgespräch mit Raj waren optimal. Unser Guide (Kesap) kümmerte sich rührend um uns und wusste auf all unsere vielen Fragen eine Antwort. Er bereitete uns hervorragend auf den jeweiligen kommen Tag vor und organisierte alles perfekt rund um jedes Teehaus. Unser Träger (Dipak) war immer bei uns, unterstütze uns immer als „Nachhut“ und stand uns bei ebenfalls dauernd zur Verfügung. Wir konnten uns einfach auf die Landschaft, die Leute, die Höhe einlassen. Eine Traumtour, trotz teilweise schlechten Wetters. Wir würden sofort wieder Himalayan Trails wählen. Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen Tage!

Highly recommended! Hiked to BC, followed by an epic 3-High-Passes trek. This was the third time I travelled with the Himalayan Trails team. Mads, the backoffice team, guides (Tendu) and porters always go above and beyond to make this it memorable experience! This time - despite adverse weather conditions - (we've lost 4 days at the beginning of the trip) they somehow managed to get us to the end without missing out on anything. I will be back, for sure!

We had the most amazing honeymoon, thanks to Himalayan Trails. Amanda was so helpful in the months leading up to the trip and organised a trek in Langtang Valley and then some days in Sarangkot. When we arrived in Nepal we were looked after every step of the way. Thank you to Amanda, Raj, Suman, Prokas and everyone else involved. You really made our trip memorable. We will be back!

Our pre-season 14-day trekking adventure (Nar, Phu, Tilicho Lake, Annapurna Circuit) was deeply moving, spectacular, and magical. This was largely thanks to the attentive and fantastic guidance of Bire (guide) and Taj (porter), as well as the professional and compassionate support from the Himalayan Trails office team, especially Amanda and Raj. Everything went perfectly - communication before, during, and after the trip was immediate, excellent, and caring. Questions were answered quickly, and we received valuable information about daily matters, culture, the mountain environment, and so on, along with excellent orientation and briefings throughout the trek. For our next trekking trip in Nepal, we would definitely choose Himalayan Trails again, especially since they are also very committed to sustainability.

I just finished my second trip with Himalayan Trails, and it was just as epic as the first in 2019. Across both trips (first trekking in Solukhumbu, and then motorbiking to Mustang this time), the itinerary, the food+ activities, the scenery and the crew have been fantastic. The company is ethical, sustainable, knowledgeable and fun, and the crew mirror this. We went as a family group of 12, crossing 3 generations, and both times they worked with us to make sure everyone had a great experience, including our 70+ yr old 'Umma'. This remote off-the-beaten path trek takes you through high passes and remote villages reaching the a maximum elevation of 4,730 meters (Oktang) the south base camp to 5,153 meters (Pangpema) the north base base camp of Kanchenjunga. These high altitude viewpoints allow you ti witness the stunning views of Yalung Glacier with close-up views of Mount Kanchenjunga, Kabru and Jannu. 🏔️

The beautiful Kyanjin Gompa is the last permanent settlement on the ‘Langtang Valley Trek’ situated at an elevation of 3,870 meters above sea level. Kyanjin Gompa is famous for its ancient Buddhist monastery is estimated to be up to 300 to 700 years old.

This village is also well known for acclimatization hub for trekkers and mountaineers. Trekkers have options to hike up to. Stunning viewpoints like Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m) for breathtaking panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Langshisha Ri, and the Langtang Lirung Glacier.
