Trek to the heart of the Annapurna Range & ascend Tent Peak (5600m)

Departure: Kathmandu
Duration: 17 days
Best season: October to May
Peak Grade: NW Ridge Alpine Grade PD; SW Ridge Alpine Grade AD

Located in the heart of the Annapurna range and overlooking the magnificent Annapurna Sanctuary lies Tharpu Chuli or 'Tent Peak'. An ascent of Tharpu Chuli combines one of Nepal’s classic treks with glacier travel, face climbing and a long ridge ascent to the summit that offers breath-taking 360º views.

Our trek into the spectacular amphitheatre of the Annapurna Sanctuary starts from Phedi after a short drive of about 45 minutes from Pokhara. Your trek takes you through charming Gurung villages and rhododendron forests into what is surely one of the world’s most magnificent camping places. You will have a chance to ascend Tent Peak, locally known as Tharpu Chuli, and explore the stunning Annapurna Sanctuary.

Tent Peak is technically straightforward all the way up to the summit, making the summit’s breathtaking 360 degree view of the surrounding Annapurna massif accessible even for novice climbers. Tent Peak is the third most climbed trekking peak in Nepal after Mera Peak and then Island Peak in Khumbu region. Apon reaching the summit you will understand the appeal!

If you are physically fit and well acclimatised you can do this trip any time of the year except monsoon (July & August).
