Everest Base Camp & Ascent Island Peak
Combine climbing Island Peak (6173m) with a stunning trek to Gokyo Lakes, Mt Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar.

Departure: Kathmandu
Duration: 21 days
Best season: Spring and Autumn
Peak Grade: Alpine grade PD+

ImageLocated on top of the Chukung glacier between Ama Dablam and Lhotse Mountains, Island Peak, at 6173m, is a popular destination for trekkers ready for a challenge. This trip gives you the opportunity to experience the major highlights of the Everest region, including stunning Gokyo Lakes, Kala Pattar, Everest Base Camp, the amazing culture of Sherpa villages and Buddhist Monasteries along with the wonderful experience of climbing a peak on the roof of the world.

As Island Peak is technically straightforward, knowledge of snow and ice climbing is not essential and any physically fit & acclimatized person is well qualified to make the ascent.  You will be provided with an orientation and demonstration of ice climbing by our Sherpa Guide on the mountain, which will be enough for you to safely undertake a summit bid.

The best time for this trip is in spring, from March to May and in the clear, crisp days of autumn, from September to December.
