Take a stroll around Pokhara's bustling bazaar and visit one of the city's most important shrines.

Departure: Pokhara
Duration: 1 day
Best Season: October to March (possible all year round)

Pokhara’s traditional bazaar is bright and colourful, as are its ethnically diverse traders. Located around 4km from Lakeside, it is a pleasant, shady spot, strewn with shops selling everything from edibles and cloth to cosmetics and gold! We will take a stroll around the stores, and our local guide will point out the oddities, direct us to the best stores to buy from and give us pointers on how to haggle with the locals!

We will then be escorted to one of Pokhara’s most important shrines, located in the middle of the Bazaar. Known locally as the Bindhyabasini Mandir, this white dome-like structure dominates a spacious stone paved courtyard built atop a shady hillock. It is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, one of the many manifestations of Shakti . On Saturdays and Tuesdays, devotees flock here to offer sacrifices, giving the area a festive feel.
