Hari Dharel – Managing Director Hari Dharel is in charge of the daily operations of the office and moreover, he deals with all the correspondence to the customers. He has been in the tourism industry for over 20 years and he is also heavily involved in our community work. | | | Mads – Advisor, Himalayan Adventures Born in Denmark, Mads has spent most of his time since 1996 in Nepal and the wider Himalayan region. He began his career as a mountain bike and hiking guide in the Kathmandu Valley, but soon he found himself not only guiding trips all over the Himalayas from Ladakh to Bhutan but also personally arranging them. For many people it’s the adventure of altitude or climbing a peak that takes them to the world’s highest mountains but for Mads it’s the people and their cultures that keep him exploring. A veteran in the adventure travel business he has organized and led trips in Turkey, Morocco, Tibet, India, Cambodia and Sri Lanka but Nepal remains his true love, where he spends half his time trekking, biking and guiding people through Kathmandu’s narrow alleys. | | | Clare – Advisor, Community Programs Originally from Australia, Clare was an unlikely candidate for living in Nepal – she studied business and worked in rural Australia. However, when she did come to Nepal in 2002 working as a volunteer in an inspirational little Nepali Community Development NGO she realised she was going to have to stay. Clare has experience working in community development, mainly in rural settings, having worked in Aboriginal affairs, environmental organisations and in training and development. Funnily enough all of this comes together when looking at ways to work with local communities and Clare’s passion is to share her love of the Himalayas while ensuring that business contributes to community and the environment. | | | | | | | Our Guides Our guides are all experts in the art of ensuring that you have a great time while ensuring your wellbeing. They are highly valued, highly informative, fun and most of all professional and responsible people. We only use accredited trekking guides and they must have their wilderness first aid qualifications up to date to lead treks with us. Our cultural and multi adventure tour guides are highly educated in the history and culture of the Himalayan region and they can also point out the myriad of fascinating elements of daily life that make a visit to this region so memorable. | |
